How do I calculate metal weight from volume?

Weight = Volume × Density. Volume is calculated from the shape's dimensions (e.g., length × width × height for a rectangular piece). Density varies by metal — aluminium is 2,700 kg/m³, copper is 8,960 kg/m³, titanium is 4,507 kg/m³.

Which metal is lighter — aluminium or steel?

Aluminium (2,700 kg/m³) is about 1/3 the density of steel (7,850 kg/m³). This is why aircraft and automotive parts use aluminium — the same volume weighs much less. However, steel is stronger per unit volume.

What is the density of copper?
